Passed away in 2011. I will always remember the testimony he gave at our 47th get-together.

Miriam Louise Marsh (Mills)

John Ronald "RONNY" Villeponteaux, Sr., of Moncks Corner, SC, a retired supervisor for  the Berkeley County Department of Public Works, departed this life on the morning of April 21, 2011, in Charleston, SC.

Ronny was born April 29, 1944, in Moncks Corner, SC, a son of Edward LeRoy Villeponteaux and Willie Mae Nix Villeponteaux.

He was a graduate of Berkeley High School, Class of 1962, and received his Associates Degree in Engineering from Trident Technical College.  Ronny was a Navy veteran of  Vietnam. 

Ronny was a member and Past Master of Berkeley Lodge #269 AFM, was very active in the Mt. Hope Lodge #128 AFM, and was a member of the Omar Shrine Hillbilly Clan No. 8 Outhouse #1, and the Roadrunners.  He was also a member of Cordesville First Baptist Church. 

Surviving are his wife, Beverly King Villeponteaux; two daughters, Melanie V. Lott and her husband, Charlie, of Moncks Corner and Lisa G. Villeponteaux of Summerville; a son, John R. Villeponteaux, Jr and his wife, Miranda, of Moncks Corner; a sister, Joanne V. Medlock of Spartanburg; two brothers, Dale R. Villeponteaux of Winston Salem, NC, and Roy Villeponteaux of Bonneau; six grandchildren; and many close friends and caregivers considered as family.

His funeral service was held on April 23, 2011, in the Cordesville First Baptist Church.  Interment followed in the Biggin Cemetery with Masonic rites by Berkeley Lode #269 AFM.
